Tamlyn Botel
Senior Director, Regulatory Engagement & Social Impact
Tamlyn is passionate about the confluence of Western science and Indigenous knowledge and how their integration can strengthen understanding and informed decision-making among industry, government, and First Nations throughout the natural resource lifecycle. She brings over a decade of experience in regulatory engagement and strategic relationship leadership, grounded in a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach that brings together diverse perspectives to advance complex projects. A proud member of the Nlaka’pamux Nation, Tamlyn holds a B.Sc. in Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria.
Tamlyn previously served as Regulatory Engagement Manager at Skeena Gold + Silver, where she led relationships with Indigenous communities, governments, and key stakeholders, including collaboration with the Tahltan Nation on the first consent-based decision-making agreement for a resource project in British Columbia under DRIPA. Tamlyn spent over eight years with the Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly, most recently as Executive Director, where she strengthened organizational technical capacity, advanced the first Nlaka’pamux Impact Assessment process, expanded the organization’s strategic mandate, and concurrently served as General Manager of K’en T’em Limited Partnership. Prior to this, she also worked at Teck Highland Valley Copper, serving as Community Lead for the HVC Mine Life Extension Project.
