Community Engagement Specialist
Job Summary
C3 Alliance is seeking an experienced, motivated, and self‑directed Community Engagement Specialist with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex projects and build respectful relationships with communities, government, and industry within the natural resource sector. The successful candidate will work closely with a small, entrepreneurial, and fast‑paced management team to deliver high‑quality client outcomes.
This role will appeal to a highly organized professional who thrives on solving complex problems and enjoys working collaboratively to deliver excellent client service. Candidates with interests in the natural resource sector, community relations, Indigenous engagement, or regulatory affairs will be well suited to this position.
Who We Are
C3 Alliance provides a wide range of services and strategic advice to First Nations, resource developers, businesses, communities, and all levels of government. Our team assists clients with developing and implementing effective approaches to engagement that maximize local benefits. Reporting to the Director - Advisory Services, the primary role of the Community Engagement Specialist will be to facilitate and support the management of project-related research and communications for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Key tasks for the Community Engagement Specialist include, but are not limited to, assisting with:
Leading the development of client deliverables, including communication materials, research reports, and strategic plans.
Proactive project management, including serving as a key relationship holder with clients; anticipating client needs; and developing workplans, budgets, schedules, and coordinating the timely completion of tasks.
Coordinating and attending meetings between C3’s clients and local communities, industry proponents, and government representatives. This includes the timely preparation and distribution of meeting materials and liaison with relevant stakeholders.
Maintaining communications as a single point of contact between project proponents and communities and keeping accurate and up-to-date records.
Providing strategic advice related to the BC resource development industry, including supporting the negotiation and implementation of legal agreements.
Qualifications:
Five (5) years of experience in project coordination within Indigenous or Community Relations, ideally within the natural resource sector in British Columbia.
Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous cultures, values, and protocols.
Knowledge of the natural resource sector, including regulatory and environmental assessment processes.
A diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Ability to demonstrate discretion, tact, and sound judgment, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Willingness to travel to remote communities within British Columbia.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Salary:
$80,000 - 90,000
Schedule:
Full-Time Position.
Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week.
In office with part-time work from home opportunity following completion of probation period.
